NYC Landscape Design-Build: Designed, Installed & Maintained

Interior Foliage Design is a New York City landscape design-build firm: we design, install, and maintain rooftop gardens, terraces, townhouse yards, courtyards, and outdoor hardscape across NYC and the Tri-State. From our Long Island City greenhouse (since 1980), one team takes outdoor projects from concept through care. Call 718-784-4527 or email info@interiorfoliage.com.

Designed · Installed · Maintained

Many clients want a single outdoor partner instead of a designer, a separate installer, and a later maintenance vendor. Our outdoor practice is built around that continuity:

  1. Designed — planting character, circulation, seating, privacy, and hardscape options that fit how you use the space.
  2. Installed — planting and related exterior construction as scoped, staged from our Long Island City greenhouse.
  3. Maintained — optional ongoing care so rooftops, terraces, courtyards, and yards stay healthy after install.

We discuss transparent budgets before you commit to build. We do not publish a fixed menu price on this site.

Who we work with

Residential owners, co-ops and condos, townhouse and brownstone households, multifamily and office property managers, retail, commercial, industrial sites, and developers. Typical goals: usable outdoor square footage, privacy planting, durable flooring, and a garden that still looks intentional a year later.

If your need is short-term event greenery (weddings, brand activations, premieres), that is a different team and workflow: Events & Plant Rentals.

Where we design and build

Service territory stated on our rooftop and exterior pages: New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County (Hamptons and North Fork), New Jersey, and Connecticut. Broader Tri-State and Northeast work (including Boston and Philadelphia) is part of our outdoor practice. For select corporate clients, rooftop services may extend nationwide—ask us when you inquire.

Our home base is a family greenhouse operation in Long Island City, Queens—useful when projects need plant staging, replacements, or coordinated delivery into Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the outer boroughs.

How a design-build project usually starts

  1. Goals & constraints — how you want to use the space, sun/wind exposure, access (stairs, elevator, crane), and building rules you already know.
  2. Design direction — planting, circulation, and hardscape options.
  3. Transparent budget — scope and numbers before you commit to build.
  4. Installation — planting and related exterior construction as scoped.
  5. Maintenance — optional ongoing care (see landscape maintenance NYC).

We do not invent irrigation specs, structural load ratings, or DOB / permit processes on this page. If your building requires engineer or board approvals, your owner or building team should confirm those; we work within the on-site scope you bring us.

Landscaping vs. event plant rentals

  • This hub (design-build): permanent or long-term gardens—rooftops, terraces, yards, courtyards—with install and optional maintenance.
  • Event rentals: short-term greenery at a flat rate up to three days—weddings, activations, premieres—with delivery, placement, and strike. Start at events rentals.

Same greenhouse, different job. If you need both a permanent terrace and a party rental weekend, say so when you inquire—we will route you correctly.
