Zamia furfuracea (S.  Zamia crassifolia, Cardboard Palm, Mexican Cycad)

Native: Veracruz, Southeast Mexico 

Zamia is a member of the Cycad family, and even though Cycad means "palm" in greek, it actually isn't a palm at all, but retains the shape with it's tough textured, pinnate leaves. 

This gorgeous plant does best in rooms that have bright, direct or indirect light.
